Works well, short cable I have used the Equus 3100 which is an excellent tool and after comparing features between the 3040 and 3100, the 3040 adds live data feed and only misses the battery back up of the 3100. It works well and is easy to use, providing instant recognition of the code without having to refer to a book or the internet. I called Technical Sales at Equus prior to purchasing to find out the cable length of which I was advised was 72″. Unfortunately, this is wrong as it is ~ 24″ long. It could use to…
Great devise! The Equus 3040 OBD2 Scan Tool is great. I immediately used it on my car and turned off the check engine light. I also used it on my truck and several friends’ cars as well. It’s simple and easy to use and displays the errors on the screen. Well worth the price!
Great Device For The Money, But Beware Their Repair Solution Upgrade I’m giving their tool a solid 4 stars, but their website a big fat 1 star and their customer service ZERO stars. When you get to the Repair Solutions screen you don’t get any information other than the estimated cost of the repair.You seem to get some nice info on an Upgrade BUT, you have to upgrade EACH vehicle separately, so that $59.95 is for 1 vehicle over 12 months.
