Features & Benefits

Stanley drive tools are forged from high-quality steel and finished in high-polish nickel chrome. Selected ratchet handles are ergonomically designed and have an easy-to-use, thumb operated reverse-switch mechanism. Sockets and extensions remain locked onto the drive until disengaged with an easy-to-reach, low-profile quick-release button. Stanley sockets feature the Stanley Max-Drive design, a unique radius corner design which provides 15% more torque to tighten fasteners easily and simplify the turning of rounded corners. Max-Drive helps reduce fastener wear by minimizing contact on the outer 5% of the fastener, helping increase life expectancy. It also helps reduce slipping on frozen or rusted fasteners.

Durability and Use

All Stanley ratchets, sockets and wrenches are manufactured globally, to Stanley specifications, meeting and often exceeding ANSI specifications. The durability of the Stanley 91-988 201-piece mechanics tool set makes it perfect for automotive, decking and maintenance applications.

Perfect Set for a Shade Tree Mechanic! Sold all my tools when i left mechanical tool required employment. Needed a ratchet set to put an alternator in my car, and saw how this had 1/4,3/8 and 1/2 inch. The set performed perfectly, sockets never fell off ratchet and ratchets took all the force i could give them without any issues. The case holds everything in place 95% of the time lol. The one time it didn’t i left the case open in direct sunlight for 2 hours and it actually got soft and 7 sockets fell out oh and the allen wrench…

A fair set for the price. I’m a tool guy and have been rebuilding and restoring automobiles for well over 48 years. My mainstay automotive tools were always Snap-On, but the majority of my tools are Craftsman items. Recently, my only new tool addition has been a GearWrench 12 Piece Metric XL GearBox Ratcheting Wrench Set given to me last Christmas by my wife. But the Craftsman tools are mostly 10, 15, or 20 years old. In the last few years Craftsman quality has fallen quite a bit, while Snap-On tools have…

Outstanding and great value! This was an outstanding purchase especially for the price. My set is laid out differently that this picture, but I believe they are still the same. For less than $100 you get a great set. I especially like how it has the multiple size socket wrenches. Only issue I’ve had is that the sockets are held in there really tight. This is, of course, a good thing since it prevents them from falling out while closed up. However, it also makes it somewhat difficult to get them out. This really…
