- The WiFi OBD II Diagnostic Scanner will set up a wifi hotspot called “WiFi_OBDII” when it is powered on. Your cellphone or tablet needs to connect to this wifi for data communication with the OBD II scanner (Not for internet access). You cannot connect to other WiFi networks for the scanner to work. For iOS devices, you can do the following setting to enable cellular data: Set a static address under the wifi settings for this device, use the same address that DHCP display however only enter the IP address and subnet mask 255.255.255.0, Leave gateway and DNS blank. With this setup your cellular data will be available.
